Alex Tkach

 For Park Board

Alex is a Vancouver resident focused on protecting our parks, community centres and green spaces as essential neighbourhood infrastructure.

His career in digital effects technology and film post-production has included an Emmy nomination in 1982 and an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist nod in 1996 for Northwest Imaging & FX. 

An avid golfer, Alex is a fierce defender of Langara Golf Course and all Vancouver public green spaces, beaches and urban forest for families, seniors and future generations.

He believes parks are core services, not afterthoughts. For too long, decisions have been made without genuine neighbourhood input, and we've seen the results in deferred maintenance and misplaced priorities.

Alex will focus on core Park Board responsibilities and fiscal accountability.

Basics must be provided: clean, safe, accessible washrooms, playgrounds, pools and community centres that function every day.

Alex will work to restore trust through transparency and real consultation — planning with neighbourhoods, not around them.
