Amanda Boggan
For City Council
Amanda Boggan is a Vancouver resident and community advocate who lives in the Downtown Eastside. She is a former president of the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood Council.
Amanda has worked in warehouses and laundries and has spent years actively engaging with civic issues, including attending public meetings, reviewing public documents, and studying administrative law to better understand how government decisions affect local residents.
Amanda has a strong interest in the rule of law, access to information, transparency, and government accountability. In her view, public trust depends on decisions being made within legal authority, through proper process, and for reasons that can be explained to the public. Those principles help protect people from the misuse of public power and help ensure that government remains accountable to the people it serves.
Amanda’s perspective is shaped by her lived experience, community advocacy, and longstanding interest in how public institutions work in practice. She believes local government is most effective when it remains focused on the responsibilities properly assigned to it and on the services that support everyday life in Vancouver’s neighborhoods.
