For City Council

Jonathan Weisman is a lawyer and committed community organizer since his move to Vancouver 17 years ago.

​

He studied politics and law in Kingston, Ottawa, London, and Washington, D.C. before choosing Vancouver as the place to start and raise a young family.

​

Since his move, Jonathan has helped to steward community organizations from

professional theatre to a school. As the board chair of a community centre, he has led that organization through the final stages of planning a new, 200,000 square foot facility in a rejuvenated multi-use campus, designed to include affordable housing.

He has served as a Scout leader for a decade, and has been recognized for volunteering his legal services through the pro bono clinic at the Vancouver Courthouse.

His run for Council is motivated by the same drive. Vancouver’s families and youth, whether long-term residents or newcomers, deserve to grow, to thrive, and to find homes and jobs in one of the most naturally-gifted places in our country.

Jonathan is running to bring his legal experience, his community experience, and his commitment to bear in helping TEAM achieve just that – a City for all its residents, today and tomorrow.
