Patrick Sauriol
For City Council
A lifelong resident of Vancouver, Patrick has chosen to run for City Council because he identifies with TEAM’s values and approaches to addressing the numerous issues facing the city and its affordability, growth, and potential.
Running for public office was not something that Patrick ever imagined himself doing, but sees how his background with digital and tech has prepared him to achieve his goals of reducing the complexity and clutter of bureaucracy, helping the city diversify its industries beyond tourism and real estate, and accelerating more opportunities for jobs and careers.
Patrick has four decades of digital experience and entrepreneurship beginning with his time as a teen pioneering Vancouver’s bulletin board community of the 1980s. In the mid-90s, he created “Coming Attractions,” a website which became one of the world’s biggest online portals for fast breaking movie news. Leveraging knowledge gained from that business, he used it in the emerging industry of digital marketing.
For three years he served as the Executive Director for DigiBC, a non-profit organization that helps build and support B.C.’s creative tech industries. For eleven years he has taught Online Business Development, Project Management, Broadcasting, and Digital Marketing courses at VanArts.
Patrick wants to improve Vancouver and help lay a foundation for making it better twenty, thirty, fifty years down the road – like what his neighbourhood, Champlain Heights, has done for families today.
