Transportation

What’s Gone Wrong

Vancouver’s aging transportation infrastructure has not been meaningfully improved to keep pace with our increasing population. As a result, Vancouver consistently ranks as one of the most congested cities in North America. Successive councils have demonized personal vehicles while much of the city remains difficult to access via transit.

The TEAM Difference

TEAM supports a transportation system that works for everyone, whether they drive or use public transit. That means making sure our roads are maintained, stopping the elimination of bus stops, and putting transit funds into an upgraded bus network serving the whole city.

Our Solutions

1

Transportation That Works for Everyone

Enact an "all-of-the-above" transportation strategy, investing in the necessary improvements and maintenance of road networks to make it easier for everyone to get around, whether by personal vehicle, public transit, bicycle, or walking.

2

Expanding Public Transit

Make public transit more accessible by expanding the bus service, implementing new stops in under-served neighbourhoods in order to provide an accessible citywide network of public transit.

3

Opposing Road Pricing

Personal and commercial vehicles remain important pillars of Vancouver's transportation network. We will not adopt punitive city-wide parking permits as previously proposed by Council.

4

Safety for Pedestrians

Prioritize pedestrian safety by repairing broken or lifted sections of sidewalks, adding sidewalks in underserved areas, and upgrading street and pedestrian lighting

5

Restoring Minimum Parking Requirements

Reverse council's decision and restore off-street parking minimums for all new construction to ensure greater access to personal vehicle parking for residents within their building.
