Safety for All
What’s Gone Wrong
Public safety has been deteriorating in Vancouver for decades. Successive mayors have offered slogans, not solutions, and failed to deliver results. Now public trust is down, and residents feel that their safety is at risk.
The TEAM Difference
TEAM will bring back order to our streets by refocusing the city on core responsibilities like policing, sanitation, and by-law enforcement, while encouraging community-based safety initiatives and demanding bail reform to stop repeat offenders from victimizing our community.
Our Solutions
1
Restoring a Safe and Clean City
Enforce by-laws to crack down on public disorder. Ensure our public parks are accessible and family- friendly, and our streets safe for residents.
2
Downtown Eastside Audit
Establish a Downtown Eastside Audit to ensure that the out of control social issues impacting the community are addressed, and resources are available to those who need them.
3
Preventing Crime and Drug Use
Work with the police and the province to prioritize crime prevention, protecting residents and businesses from petty crime and vandalism, and enforcing laws against public drug use.
4
Supporting Community Policing Initiatives
Increase support for community policing initiatives such as Block Watch.
5
Keeping the Public Safe from Violent Offenders
Pressure the federal government to make and enforce changes to bail laws to ensure repeat violent offenders stop threatening residents and visitors of our city.
