TEAM’s support for neighbourhoods and residents’ voices distinguishes it from all the other parties

VANCOUVER (Jan. 29, 2026) – TEAM for a Livable Vancouver will be running a mayoral candidate as well as candidates for City Council, the School Board and Park Board in the October 17th civic election.
Candidates will be chosen by TEAM members at nomination meetings in March and June.
TEAM’s defence of neighbourhoods and belief that residents matter distinguishes us from all other parties in the civic political arena.
It’s time for residents, neighbourhoods and City Hall to work together to make Vancouver better, safer, and more livable for all. That will be TEAM’s message in the coming campaign. No other party is taking this stance.
“TEAM is the only genuine opposition to ABC and other parties who vote in lockstep with them," says former TEAM Councillor and 2022 mayoral candidate Colleen Hardwick.
“TEAM is all about planning in balance between housing and infrastructure, a point that has been missed entirely by councils going back to 2008. Neighbourhoods are being ruined and affordable housing demolished in favour of concrete highrises in large areas of the city.
“While other parties fight over who’s left, who’s right, and who’s middle-of-the road, TEAM is focused on roads and infrastructure, core services of municipal jurisdiction. TEAM will stand up for the neighbourhoods because residents matter!”
TEAM has already built the foundation for a strong showing this fall, running candidates for all the civic bodies in the 2022 election, as well as two council candidates in the 2025 by-election.
In the 2025 race, TEAM candidates topped four polls, significantly outperforming the much better-resourced ABC candidates who came in last overall.
