Former NDP MLAs Tom Perry and Darlene Marzari endorse TEAM mayoral candidate Colleen Hardwick

VANCOUVER, Sept. 2, 2026 – TEAM for a Livable Vancouver is calling on progressive voters to reject OneCity and the Greens now that COPE’s Stephanie Allen has dropped out of the mayoral race. Instead, they should look to TEAM as the only party that puts residents’ interests first – not parties that call themselves “progressive,” but in practice support the same policies as Ken Sim and ABC.

“Both the Greens and OneCity have a track record of supporting developer-aligned policies against the interests of residents,” says TEAM mayoral candidate Colleen Hardwick. “From the citywide Official Development Plan to local issues like the delayed community centre in the River District, they have consistently given developers a pass on fulfilling their promises to build community amenities.”

Tom Perry was NDP MLA for Vancouver - Little Mountain and Vancouver - Point Grey from 1991 to 1996; Darlene Marzari was a TEAM alderman for eight years before being elected as NDP MLA for Vancouver - Point Grey from 1986 to 1996.

Hardwick has been endorsed by former NDP MLAs Darlene Marzari and Tom Perry.

Marzari cites Hardwick’s deep knowledge of the city and the legacy of the original TEAM, which ushered in an era of civic engagement that shaped Vancouver and preserved parkland, green spaces, trees, and view corridors.

Perry lays the blame for the city’s problems squarely on the current council. “Vancouver is in trouble,” he says. “What has happened to thoughtful urban planning of the type practiced and espoused by Vancouver’s progressive civic leaders of the 1970s and early 1980s?”

Perry endorses Hardwick and TEAM’s approach to planning and governance. “I expect she will focus on addressing practical everyday issues, including not only our housing needs, but traffic control, maintenance of our potholed streets and our dwindling urban tree canopy, and our public safety problems.”
