On August 29th, TEAM visits the neighbourhood of Hastings-Sunrise, marking the halfway point in its 22 Neighbourhoods Tour.

Earlier this year, TEAM committed to visiting all 22 of Vancouver’s officially-designated neighbourhoods in advance of October’s election.
“TEAM’s message is resonating,” says Colleen Hardwick, “everywhere in the city, we are hearing about distinct concerns from residents. But there is one common denominator: they don’t feel heard or represented by any of the established parties at City Hall.”
TEAM’s Respect for Neighbourhoods plan has drawn particular attention at these local neighbourhood events, with residents expressing concern over the current planning process that led to the Villages Plan.
“There is a real appetite for change in the city’s approach to planning and governance,” says Hardwick, “that is one of the things we have been hearing at these events.”
Other top-of-mind concerns include affordability, declining services, parking, and public safety.
TEAM will be visiting the 11 remaining neighbourhoods before the end of the campaign:
Kensington-Cedar Cottage
Renfrew-Collingwood
Dunbar-Southlands
Arbutus Ridge
Fairview
Oakridge
Marpole
Shaughnessy
Strathcona
Victoria-Fraserview
Downtown
TEAM asks residents and groups within these neighbourhoods to continue to engage with the party as it embarks on the second half of its 22 Neighbourhoods Tour.
“TEAM aspires to be the voice for all neighbourhoods, but we need to match that aspiration by hearing from residents in every corner of our city,” says Colleen Hardwick. “That’s what TEAM’s 22 Neighbourhoods Tour is all about.”
