We are proud to introduce Peter Tu as one of our candidates for Vancouver City Council.

An immigrant, entrepreneur, and speaker of English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Peter brings more than perspective. He brings translation in the deepest civic sense — the ability to make opaque systems legible, and to help communities too often shut out of City Hall see clearly what is being done in their name.

Peter is a frontline systems operator. For more than two decades, he has worked where pressure reveals truth — managing high-stakes claims escalations, confronting institutional bottlenecks, and fighting to keep a small business alive through municipal friction and pandemic disruption. He does not speak about systemic failure as theory. He has met it at the counter, in the paperwork, in the delay, and in the cost imposed on ordinary people.

That is why he is stepping forward to demand glass-box governance — a City Hall that is visible, logical, and answerable to the public. As part of TEAM, Peter will work to cut bureaucratic red tape, protect local neighbourhoods, and rebuild the municipal systems that residents and working families rely on every day.
